Elliud Muli, the Director, ApiConsult, is an Associate Professor in beekeeping at South Eastern Kenya University, Kenya. He has over 20 years’ experience in beekeeping value chains in East Africa, North Africa and Near East and Indian Ocean islands, where he has been involved in implementing community beekeeping projects. He has worked as a scientist at the International Center for Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) and a beekeeping expert for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). He has consulted for several NGOs and Governments. His interests include sustainable beekeeping, indigenous beekeeping knowledge, hive products, pollination and honeybee health. He enjoys working with, training and learning from beekeepers. He is very passionate about giving Kenyan children, especially girls, the opportunity to attend and excel in school. When not thinking about bees and his students, he likes watching football and reading fiction.
