Anticipation mounts as the countdown begins
The official 2026 Tour for Beekeepers & Educators Engaged in Kenya will kick off on February 15, 2026 as the group, which is dispersed all over, converges on Nairobi to begin our wonderful journey into the sites, history, lifestyle and most importantly, people of Kenya. As I sit in PA where the weather is currently unseasonably cold with temperatures below zero, I find myself particularly checked-out of the daily routine and picturing being warmed by the sun in Kenya. I know that in less then a week I may be complaining its TOO HOT, but for now, I welcome the thoughts of that warm sun beating down.
Thoughts of all the adventures that await the tour this year are swirling and everyone is excited to see our friends in Kenya. This year will be slightly different with two distinct tours, one for Beekeepers and one for Educators. We are excited to welcome Jeff Pettis on this trip as he unveils a new hive design he has been experimenting with. All in all, lots of exciting things are happening for Beekeepers & Educators Engaged in Kenya and we hope that you join us in our journey. We will try to post some key moments from the trip to give you a taste of what it is like, but it truly is an experience that can really only be understood if you join us next year. If you have interest in being part of a future tour please reach out to us for more details.
